From Mess to Success

I have a customer who wants a logo knit into her cabled sock. So I thought and thought and realized you can't do intarsia in the round without a lot of ends. So I called the customer and we discussed a few options and it was clear she was not giving up. We decided I'd try to knit the logo part flat then return to the round and sew up a seam in that area. I was afraid it would be a mess but...

What a success ! Maybe not to more experienced knitter but my first intarsia knitting was horrible. Years later and with some prodding it is just fine. I have a new skill !!! Maybe this fall's project will have a little color work. Needless to say the second sock is going much easier. I'm going to start looking at some of those patterns I've been passing up for years. Could be fun !

wow! I'm really impressed. Socks are tricky enough...add intarsia and I'm overwhelmed. You did a fabulous job and I'm sure your client will be tickled.
