Just Beginning

We are filling the garden up. Chives, basil, parsley, dill and tomatoes. Today we planted some lettuce seeds just to see if they work. We also need a zucchini bush and maybe a green pepper.
Small but manageable. Not only will the fence keep the girls out but also a bunny.

Your chives look beautiful. Mine are in full bloom now too. This is one plant that does double-duty!

Good luck with your lettuce -- I planted from seed too, but nothing has happened and it's been two weeks. I ended up going out and buying a six-pack (I'm talking about lettuce -- not beer, here!).

yeah! To have it planted is fabulous. My honey just built our raised bed this weekend. Hopefully we'll get it planted this week. We'll need to put a fence around ours to, to keep out the critters.

Keep an eye out for slugs and snails. I planted 20 lettuces and as soon as their little leaves broke through the soil they were eaten by the slugs - I didn't even know we had slugs in the garden!
