I was going to say the hardest part for me is to be so exacting. But now I see reviewing my blog entry that I have put some of it together wrong !!!! This will be harder than I imagined. Now what !!!!!
Every month is a different star. They sell finishing kits but that ups the ante. I also have been thinking if I used the brown/taupe shades to finish it my daughter might like it. We'll see a year is a long time. I need to get the first block right.

Enjoy your new adventure!! I just finished piecing my first quilt top and back, and would love to start another. You may be bitten by the quilting bug by the end of the year!
Hooray for new adventures!
I am BFFs with my seam ripper. Even after making acres of quilts I don't think I have *ever* made one that I didn't have to rip out at some point. (Ummmm ... that's not meant to freak you out ... just to commiserate!)
Hang in there ... and have fun :-)
This sounds like the perfect way to tackle a quilt. I'm with Courtney over at The Woodland School -- her BFF is mine too. I spent the whole weekend frogging yarn. Every single project I started was a disaster. One of those weekends, I guess.
You'll be a pro by the end of the year! Just a little turning and that quilt block will be right as rain. My seam ripper and I work through every single sewing project!
Good for you for diving in! You'll figure out to fix this one, and then be off onto the next one in a flash.
I'd love to make Alicia Paulson's Ollallieberry Quilt, but can't find the gumption at the moment ;).
Blessings,
G
