Resolutions

I've been thinking about New Years Resolutions and words for the year. I want to improve my business. I also do not want to do any interior renovations this year. We are going to enjoy our house as it is. I like the idea of a word for the year and I think balance is perfect for me. Balanced eating, work, play all fit into my goals for the year.
Last year I vowed not to buy any salad dressing. I think I managed to find great recipes and made our dressing all year. Last night I made Ina Garten's Week Night Bolognese from her new cookbook. I think it was great. This year there will be no pre-made spaghetti sauce. I would say that's a big goal but I think it will be fun to find and try new recipes. At least I'm off to a good start with my first recipe !

Hi B, all your resolutions sound like good common sense! Hope you share some of your good dressing recipes - I'm terrible at making dressing -- always too sour, too sweet, too blah, something ;). And Ina never fails, does she? Think I'll have to try her bolognese. I've been wanting to try Alicia Paulson's recipe too -- over at 'Posie Gets Cozy' -- good sauce is another thing I can't do ;( -- maybe this year?
Blessings,
G

Great resolutions - i'm trying to eat better and healthier too! I make all the salad dressings that greg and i eat but i still buy ranch for the kiddos. and i would love to make more sauces as well but the middle child is obsessed with the red four cheese sauce made by Classico and so i doctor that up with veggies and meat so he'll eat too. Your sauce looks so yummy!

That one word challenge is such a challenge for me!! I have so many words. That must mean I have plenty of areas that need working on! Best wishes as you begin your year! Many thanks for all your visits and comments! xoxo

Is there life after pre-made spaghetti sauce? Most times I do try to make my own, but it's definitely a quick fix on a busy night. You can never go wrong with Ina. She's amazing. Good luck finding that balance.

beth... happy new year!
so funny... i NEVER bought store bought sauce until recently... with my growing 15 year old who wants pizza or pasta after school almost everyday. and do you know what... he LOVES it and now prefers that! ugh!
(too bad... i'm sticking to giada's... so good and it has carrots in it!)

love the word "balance". such a good reminder.
